Soap server and custom resources

Published by Lennart Van Vaerenbergh on March 30, 2015

During the setup of a soap server and custom resources (of the services module), I encoutered a couple of problems. Probably just due to the fact that the soap_server module isn't mature enough.

I'm using the services (7.x-3.11) module in combination with the soap_server (7.x-3.0-beta1) module, the latter provides a new web service server type.

Problem 1:
soap_server loads all available resources defined in the endpoint, even though we selected only a few.
Solution:
The module needs patching. Use this patch in order the fix this problem.

Problem 2:
soap_server doesn't add my custom resources defined in the hook_services_resources() hook.
Solution:
You could patch the soap_server module for that, but if you're too lazy you can just make sure all your resources belong the 'actions' group. That is the only resources group that is picked up by the module. And that's what I did for now.
